Ray Wipfli
Ray Wipfli, EIA Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Global Health Scholar, Yale University
Ray founded EIA after his first visit to Uganda in 2014. He is a Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry Major and Global Health Scholar at Yale University, Class of 2025. He is also a member of the Yale Swim and Dive Team and the Unorthojocks accappella singing group. He aims to attend medical school and continue to engage in global health research and practice throughout his career.
Kelley Warren, Board Chair
Teacher, Competitive Edge Charter Academy
Kelley Warren is honored to be this year’s Energy in Action Board Chair. Mrs. Warren is an educator with 33 years of experience. She holds a M.A. in Education as well as a Reading Specialist credential. She currently teaches 1st grade at Competitive Edge Charter Academy, an International Baccalaureate School. She believes in the power of family, friendships and community. She teaches her students to listen carefully and look closely - this is how we develop respect, build connections and learn to cooperate. Mrs. Warren has been involved with Energy in Action since the very beginning. She has volunteered at countless Energy in Action events including traveling to Uganda to work with the Energy in Action team in 2019. There she experienced first hand the power of youth working together to drive change. She remains active as an Energy in Action volunteer - currently serving as the fundraising chair of her school’s yearly campaign

Dr. Lynn Atuyambe
Professor, Makerere School of Public Health
Lynn Atuyambe, Ph.D., (Public Health Sciences International Health) teaches at the Makerere University School of Public Health-Department of Community Health and Behavioural Sciences. He obtained his doctorate from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden and Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. Dr. Atuyambe teaches at the undergraduate, masters, and PhD levels and has participated in both qualitative and quantitative research projects in various capacities. His research largely focuses on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, with recent publications focused on adolescent reproductive health, coping theories among pregnant adolescents, HIV/AIDS, ART access, HIV stigma and discrimination, and HIV disclosure outcomes.
Anna Davis
Senior Disaster Risk Reduction Planner, AECOM
Anna is a Senior Disaster Risk Reduction Planner at the multinational engineering firm AECOM. She works in the field of emergency management and helps local, state, tribal and Federal governments plan for, respond to and recover from large-scale disasters. Her work is mainly in California, Alaska and the U.S. Pacific territories and it is primarily focused on helping disadvantaged populations and Indigenous communities. In recent years, much of her work has been centered around climate change, including better understanding the impacts of climate change and identifying and implementing programs to enhance community resilience. Prior to joining AECOM, Anna worked at the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and a Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
Meddy Katende
CEO, One Lab Diagnostics LLC
Muhammed Katende is a medical scientist, entrepreneur, and the CEO of OneLab Diagnostics. With a strong background in the medical field, Muhammed leads a dedicated team in advancing diagnostic technologies and improving healthcare outcomes. Passionate about innovation and research, Muhammed strives to make a positive impact on the healthcare industry through cutting-edge solutions. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring new destinations, participating in community outreach initiatives, and playing football with friends. He has been associated with Energy In Action since he first volunteered as a Makerere student in 2016.

Nicole Crane Koolmees
Principal, Mitre
Nicki Crane is a Principal and Chief Engineer for the Human and Organizational Systems Department at MITRE. Nicki has more than 25 years of experience leading teams in complex enterprise transformation and strategy initiatives. Nicki is a strategist and driver in leading complex organizational change initiatives, mobilizing stagnant leadership, and advancing team agility for organizations. Nicki’s recent research has led to creation of frameworks and intellectual property for MITRE focused on organizational artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, AI workforce strategy, driving data-driven culture, organizational culture alignment for high performance, and approach to standing-up organizations swiftly. Prior to MITRE, Nicki served as an Executive at Accenture, Adjunct Faculty at Georgetown University, and Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton. Nicki earned her masters in Organization Development with Distinction from American University, and double-majored in German and Political Science at Colgate University (in partnership with University of Geneva in Switzerland and University of Freiburg in Germany). She holds multiple certifications to include: public participation, customer experience management, MBTI, and Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI).
Dr. John Jubilee
Former Medical Superintendent at Mpigi Health Center IV
Dr. Jubilee is a medical provider and former medical superintendent at Mpigi Health Center IV, the community clinic where Energy In Acton originally operated. Dr. Jubilee has been advising Energy In Action on its activities since its launch and assists with providing internship and research opportunities to EIA interns.

Rhett and Jessie McLaughlin
Content Creator and Interior Designer
Rhett is one half of the Youtube mega-star duo 'Rhett and Link' who have built on their long-running daily morning show 'Good Mythical Morning' to include several other notable channels, including Mythical Kitchen, Smosh, and others. In total, the studio’s owned & operated YouTube channels have generated more than 27 billion lifetime views and is valued at over $40 million. Rhett also has a side hustle as a country singer songwriter known as James and the Shame. Jessie is the CEO of luxury deign and interior decorating company, Jessie Lane Interiors.
Sandra Najuna
Senior Project Manager, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, DrPH Candidate Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
Sandra Najuna is the Senior Project Manager at AIDS Healthcare Foundation. She is the Quality Management Liaison for all AHF Ryan White contracts in all 25 locations around the United States. She has worked with health centers on several quality improvement projects to improve rates of viral load suppression and cervical cancer screening. Findings from these projects have been presented in a couple of local and international conferences such as International AIDS Conference, American of Public Health Association, and many more. Sandra is a member of BLACC, an AHF affinity group that brings together black-American cultural influencers and health advocates. Sandra has worked in healthcare for about ten years. She has a background in case management and global health project management. Sandra has a Masters of Public Health from University of Southern California (Go Trojans!) and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Sandra is originally from Uganda and enjoys traveling, hiking, and all kinds of content on streaming services.

Dr. Tracy Rabin
Associate Professor of Medicine, Director of the Office of Global Health, Yale School of Medicine
Dr. Rabin is an Internist and Pediatrician who joined the Yale faculty in 2011 as a member of the Section of General Internal Medicine (YSM Department of Internal Medicine), and currently serves as the Director of the Office of Global Health, and the Associate Program Director for Global and Community Health in the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program (YPC). She attends and teaches on the medical wards at the St. Raphael's Campus (SRC) of Yale-New Haven Hospital; directs care and precepts residents in the SRC Adult Primary Care Diabetes Clinic; co-directs the YPC Community Engagement Curriculum; directs the YPC Home Visit Elective; and co-directs the Makerere University-Yale University (MUYU) medical education capacity building collaboration which is based at the Makerere University College of Health Sciences/Mulago National Referral & Teaching Hospital in Kampala, Uganda.
Her areas of academic interest include global health education and clinical ethics, outpatient diabetes management, and health care transitions.
Dr. Jonathan Samet
Professor, Former Dean, Interim Department Chair of Department of Environmental & Occupational Health, Department of Epidemiology
Jonathan M. Samet, MD, MS, a pulmonary physician and epidemiologist, is the past dean of the Colorado School of Public Health. Previously, Dr. Samet was the Flora L. Thornton Chair for the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Southern California and Director of the USC Institute for Global Health. Dr. Samet received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard College, an MD degree from the University of Rochester's School of Medicine and Dentistry, and a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. His research focuses on the health risks of inhaled pollutants—particles and ozone in outdoor air and indoor pollutants including secondhand smoke and radon. He has also investigated the occurrence and causes of cancer and respiratory diseases, emphasizing the risks of active and passive smoking. For several decades, he has been involved in global health, focusing on tobacco control, air pollution, and chronic disease prevention. He's received many, many prestigious awards for his work.

Dr. Heather Wipfli
Professor of Population and Public Health Sciences, University of Southern California
Heather is Professor of Population and Public Health Sciences and International Relations, Director of the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences’ undergraduate programs in Health Promotion and Global Health, Founding Director of the Global Research, Implementation, and Training (GRIT) Lab, Member of the Institute for Addiction Science, and Member of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is a well-funded global health researcher with over two decades of experience implementing research and training programs focused on preventing and controlling diseases and promoting adolescent and young adult health in low- and middle-income countries through community-based programming and implementation science. Over the past decade, Dr. Wipfli has carried out several large research and service projects in Uganda. In her free time, Heather works for EIA.
Ralph Wipfli
Ralph Wipfli, EIA Financial Manager, Senior Research Administrative Director, University of Southern California
Ralph is the Senior Research Administrative Director for the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences in the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He received his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Political Science from the University of Geneva, Switzerland and Masters in Foreign Service with a certificate in conflict resolution from Georgetown University. Ralph is a Swiss Citizen and enjoys cooking and playing video games when he is not in Uganda with EIA.
