INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS

Numerous international students have invested their time and effort in projects to support EIA’s efforts. These projects can be part of formal philanthropy programs (e.g. Gold Award/Eagle Award) or independent.

HOST A FUNDRAISER

Every dime raised for EIA makes a difference. There are many ways to raise funds. Past supporters have run school fundraisers, hosted wine and cheese parties, hosted a game truck party, and raised funds on social media.

We are always happy to send special thank you to our supporters!

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

Katya_B.jpg

Katya Besch completed her Girl Scout Gold Award with RUFC in January 2021. For her project, she developed a workbook focused on reproductive health and menstrual hygiene, raised funds to provide 200 make-your-own sanitary pad kits, and facilitated a pad making workshop with 21 youth in Northern Uganda via Zoom. Katya has stayed on to assist with the launch of our Youth Public Health Ambassadors Program.

Abigail Kim completed her bachelor’s in Global Health (2022) and masters in Public Health (2023) at USC. In the summer of 2022, Abby was able to travel to Uganda through the USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health Breman Fellowship to conduct a study on community perceptions of nutrition. Abby’s findings emphasized the need for increased resources and funding for nutrition interventions and policy in Uganda.
