Happy holidays everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I know I did. I wanted to take this opportunity to say that I am very grateful for all of you who donated throughout the year and have supported me in rebuilding Namabo Primary School. I have learned a lot this past year, especially how to be thankful. I am thankful for all I have; that I am not living in poverty, that I am receiving a good education, for all the things that not everyone gets. I am also thankful for more precious things, a loving family and friends that care about me. The little things, the big things, I am thankful for all of it because those people that don’t get what I do – they deserve it just as much. They work just as hard as I do, if not more. All they need is an opportunity. This year I also learned just how hard it is to get people to really care about strangers and to give. I wish more people looked beyond the world around them, saw other people are living in poverty, and did something about it. Then maybe there wouldn’t be so many poor people living in small huts and going to ruined, dilapidated schools. So this year, my New Years resolution is that I will work harder to convince more people to stop ignoring their luck, recognize that they are privileged, and help those who are less so. I hope you will join me in this work. I still believe that together we can win in the game of life. Happy Holidays!
